As we draw closer to the end of 2021, forecasts of the latest and greatest design trends are beginning to grace our timelines, newsletters and Pinterest boards. One of the most anticipated announcements every year are the ‘Color of the Year’ selections, and this year we are to [continue to] embrace green. Sherwin William’s has dubbed “Evergreen Fog” as their color of the year selection, which comes at no surprise over here!
Evergreen Fog SW 9130 is a versatile and calming hue, a chameleon color of gorgeous green-meets-gray, with just a bit of blue. It’s a simple but sophisticated wash of beautiful, organic color for spaces that crave a subtle yet stunning statement shade.
2021 saw a resurgence of the color green in all areas of the home. Textiles in grassy and emerald tones covered our upholstery kitchen and bathroom cabinetry were painted in hunter green hues, and now our walls will be wrapped in this neutral and versatile color.
To us, this is a very accessible shade of green for those who are looking to incorporate the color into their homes without disrupting their current decor. With so many homeowners choosing neutral furniture and textiles, a color like Evergreen Fog should be complimentary. It will also be a perfect pair for gold and brass fixtures.
In a sea of grey and white designs, this Evergreen Fog is a welcomed suggestion. Despite its neutral undertones, its a step out onto the proverbial limb for many. We hope this selection encourages homeowners to embrace color in their home designs again.
